1.
We sit for a long while here watching the moment of death loop over and over again. Two lines extended into the horizon draw the eye to envision a world without end. Who builds on who? Folding crisis and stasis, indifference and rupture, burned over to burning in endless procession waking each moment emptied of bones unable to reach out beyond these ruins.
2.
Momentarily held under six adverts for obscure schools trading immutable debt for the freedom to become this woman there -- arched, sweatless, astral -- knowing elsewhere your furniture is assembling. Meanwhile, you are in fact detached in the window -- liminal, confined, perspiring -- catching each other in the darkness watching your eyes watching their eyes watching your eyes dissembling accident. Rocking up on the balls of your feet slipping pinched between the pavonine boys gingerly fingering a coil of headphone wire, listening to a calm voice speak urgently of these precarious fires accelerating towards an elsewhere increasingly disassembling us into o b l i v i o n.
3.
We are living as if this place has vanished forgetting the lives we cut together held cracked drifting back closer still here here here living as if this place has vanished.
4.
Given to forget the feel of it and you drift like you do in debt, precarious, from one to the next. sous les pavés… une image des pavés. sous un reve… une image de la plage. Your dream is a stone you endure to build your body is a room vacated for extra income a space for adapting movement to dreaming. No, my love, we are close enough to touch enough to reclaim our cities are bodies, our cities thrum all night long indispensably connected. We are close enough to reclaim our senses as collective as the stones and the beach and the air between each and the roots below.
5.
Listening to the sound of the wind in the spare woods pushing shadows across the snow. Struggling, as it were, to constrain the silence to love and absence. Falling away from rising toward the stupidity of being on outposts of joy and silence with the sea beyond pushing closer. Listening in to the crack of ice under the pull of the wind, feeling in the dark for a deeper resolve, making the most to care for each other, to prepare for each other, on outposts of joy and silence, the sea beyond pushing closer
6.
The Cosmist 03:41
You are picturing a ship that can escape this time and place as if... History is an exodus, excluding knowledge of past voyages and the cargo kept beneath the current whiteness of the dead coral below pulverized into supplements for pumping up your cherry-red myths of fall and flood whose acidic seas this ship is sinking into.
7.
Lēthē 05:37
Frozen to my lungs, stolen from your tongue, lost in all the silence, misintentions promised. but wait, I’ll stay buried, though still there my love. Don’t let him take you down. Don’t follow him down. Stay clear the riverside. Come back from the river.
8.
En Abymé 04:48
We keep trying to write out this cruelty but, we just end up re-affirming its beauty. Toasting the past, getting lost in distances floating in and floating out of love. I still cut myself on the angles of our Voidoid leans but they’re duller now, disposable, routine. Was it ever what it was? floating in and floating out of love? But, Happy New Year, Fucker, I’m glad I knew you when. I was and am better for all the time we spent. I remain yours to the end as ever defenseless against that restless wit of yours even when it caused me pain. Good luck in the trenches digging out the future. I’m right there beside you trying to write out this cruelty and I’m hoping there’s beauty somewhere down under it all, even if we just end up closer to the bottom floating in and floating out of love.

about

An LP of outré folk about trying to find meaning and solidarity under the legacies of empire, environmental collapse, and neoliberal atomization.

Arrangements are spare, focused on the matter-of-fact melancholia of Eleanore Everdell’s voice and Jason Friedman’s knotted finger-picking. These elements are additionally fractured and multiplied through on-the-fly looping and filtering techniques. Attuned to the specificity of time and place, other sounds are kept close and the performances open to chance. Urban/natural landscapes, the whorl of hissing tape-machines and dirty circuits texture lithe mono-synths and submerged 808s.

With drifting melodies, ambient passages, spoken word, and touches of live percussion and piano, the forty-two-minute album stretches-out across eight tracks loosely indebted to the disparate lineages of 60s electronic psychedelia, DADA, avant-jazz and YMG post-punk. Heady, emotionally immediate and with a nakedly Leftist core,

Your Dream is a Stone posits kin and community as bulwark to the cruelties of capital and looming armageddon.
